Resolution: Day 3

Word Count: 18,008

Summary of Events:
Shelton went to visit Georgiana on Monday and managed to allay her concerns at least to some extent; they then proceeded to discuss wedding-related things and ran into a surprisingly large amount of things in just a couple hours that made them grateful they were giving themselves a year to plan the wedding, as that would give them time to answer the questions and make adjustments accordingly . . .

Excerpt of the Day:
Admittedly, Georgiana felt quite relieved and happy to actually be doing some planning, even though she had a lot of time; with the amount of questions they were running into it was also proving to be a good thing to get started now, as that would allow them plenty of time to find the answers and come to resolutions based on them.
Yet there was also the thought of Shelton in a military uniform, and Georgiana had to admit that it made her feel nervous.
Shelton had been forthright from the start about his desire to join the military and serve in the army until he was quite old, but being as he hadn’t enlisted yet Georgiana felt like she’d not really thought about it as much as she probably ought to have done.
Georgiana couldn’t help but wonder if she couldn’t convince Shelton to refrain from enlisting in the army until after they were married, even though it wasn’t like there was any sort of present conflict in which Canada was involved.
But, yet, if Shelton were to enlist before they got married then at least she would know where they would be living — as nothing guaranteed that they were going to remain in Edmonton — which could help her be able to prepare herself for being a military wife.
She wondered if it was the talk in the papers about the trouble on the Korean Peninsula that had her worried. She wasn’t sure if Canada had intent to get involved in what was going on over there, but she feared that if they did before she and Shelton got married that he’d be sent over and could even possibly get killed.
It was needless worrying, Georgiana knew, but yet she couldn’t really help herself. All she could think of was the letter from Father about Uncle Lewis’ having been killed. She didn’t want to lose another man she loved — even if she loved Shelton in an altogether different fashion than Uncle Lewis.
Honestly, it was something that she would be well served to bring up with Shelton next time they talked, even though she knew he wanted to enlist at the same time Wesley did, and there was the matter of whether Wesley was willing to wait for her and Shelton to get married before enlisting.
Her concerns were definitely going to have to be revealed to Shelton, and the thought made her feel guilty. Shelton had just, for the most part, cleared up a batch of worries for her, and now she was going to come to him with a whole new batch of worries? It didn’t seem terribly nice of her.
In fact, she really wished that she could be less worried about things. Hopefully Shelton would be able to put her worries to rest. These ones were probably more needless and silly than her worries about his parents’ reactions were, but she did also feel that they were, to some extent, valid concerns that ought to be addressed before they got married.
